The Least Common Multiple (LCM) is the smallest number that two or more numbers can divide into evenly. It’s used when finding a common denominator, especially with fractions.
How to Find the LCM
List the multiples of each number.
Find the smallest number they both share.
Example
Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24...
Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30...
LCM of 4 and 6 = 12
Other Methods
You can use prime factorization or a Venn diagram to find the LCM.
Multiply the highest powers of all primes that appear in either number.
