A Little Bit About Us!

Thanks so much for your interest in the Alabama Church School.  We look forward to covering your children through their home education journey.

Alabama Church School is also known as ACS. If you see the initials ACS we are referring to Alabama Church School!

ACS was founded in Alabama by the Baker Family and we have been educating under the cover of a Church School for almost 20 years. We love it and wouldn’t want it any other way. We’re a cover (umbrella) school that provides parents with a legal avenue to home-educate their children in the State of Alabama.

ACS was established to provide cover for ourselves initially and we branched out to help provide cover for families who are a member of a church that doesn’t have a cover school. We wholeheartedly feel that all parents should have the same opportunity to educate their children via a church school without having to be a member of a specific church.

ACS is a Christian home-based church school providing administrative assistance, family-based off-site, non-public instruction opportunities for grades K-12 to Alabama families pursuant to the code of Alabama.

Our Ministry
Alabama Church School is associated with The Universal Church of Life. We run our ministry under their authority, which allows us to provide our educational services and support to homeschooling families.

ACS is a Christian fellowship with like-minded believers. We belong to the church which is Christ’s body and all believers belong to and is the only church we’re spiritually required to have a membership in. Praise the lord!

Be sure to learn the law and take the right path to complete the process.  The Alabama Church School Laws Page shares with you directly the law from the Government website so make sure to read and learn it! Be prepared and know exactly what’s expected of you.

We support and encourage parents to take total responsibility for their children’s education in whatever way is best for them. Not all kids are the same, some learn at a faster pace and some learn completely differently than others. This is what makes home education under a church cover school such a benefit.

 

We support a parent’s right to choose the best type of home education or use several types of Unschooling, Unschoolers, Eclectic, Traditional, Secular, etc.  ACS accepts all students from other schools and counties in the State of Alabama regardless of culture, religion, or race.

Basic Requirements: Enrollment forms and fees should be sent in no later than August 15th each year unless transferring mid-year or something changes and you need to enroll. You can enroll at ANY time of the year if needed.

No enrollment with HSLDA.org is required but, it is highly recommended. It’s only $11 a month, no discount related to a monthly membership.

However, if you join the HSLDA via their annual membership you can save $15 off of their annual price.

We recommend that homeschooling families join HSLDA. Even if you never experience legal trouble yourself, your HSLDA membership will help enable other homeschooling families to get the legal help they need and will help defend our right to homeschool here in Alabama. Membership in HSLDA also gives you personal access to the legal staff; HSLDA’s experienced high school, special needs, and Toddlers to Tweens consultants; and discounts through HSLDA’s PerX program. No signed Statement of Faith is required.

Remember we’re hands-off and we believe that the parent has the right and ability to homeschool as they see fit! Curriculum and educational tools are yours to choose. We do not play any role in that! We’re a legal avenue for you to homeschool your student legally in the state of Alabama!
