Learn to Create Video Games FREE and/or Not Free!

Now, don’t let the title be misleading, you can learn to create video games for free using Unity’s Game Engine(FREE), Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2019(FREE), and Jason Weimann (Free/Fee). Now, Jason is how I started making the few small games I have created so far. Well, Jason and Brackey’s, they’re both amazing.  But, I really like how Jason explains, and the fact he has actual courses to learn from with TESTS! 🙂

I started this about two weeks ago, so I’m not a perfect creator, but I’m learning and following along very well.

I have had an interest for some time now wanting to make a game. I’d like to be able to make educational games for our students and create some to put on steam to bring funds in to help with curriculum, supplies, and other stuff.  I really didn’t know how easy it would come to me, the part that is a little bit hard and confusing is the code. But, I know I can learn it. Once I know what the different words mean or do, then it’ll all click and BOOM!

The Whoa Ella Game is based on the Flappy Bird Tutorial Jason shared!

I have been taking Jason’s Game Programmer Course (Fee and ON SALE NOW!) and I am loving it! He explains each detail to you that he has you do.  He walks you through creating and writing the C# (CSharp) Scripts, setting up empty game objects (I call folders), and adding or adjusting effects or settings in Unity.

I started with Jason’s Bird’s Course (FREE) first to test my ability to follow along.  I didn’t find his course on the website until I already did both his tutorials on Youtube for AngryBirds style game and a third game similar to Flappy Bird (Which I completed with menu and all!).

Check out this one! It’s pretty basic!

These little tutorials are really great, but NOTHING beats learning from a good course, like the Game Programmer Course and I love Jason’s Course! I cannot even begin to tell you how exciting it is for me. Not only because I want my son to see what I can do, but I LOVE Games! I have been a Super Mario Fan since the 80’s when I was in my mid-teen years to the present.  I know I won’t ever be a Nintendo (LOL), but I will enjoy learning and creating.

I thought I would share this with our enrolled and non-enrolled families because kids love games and why not allow them to SHINE at something they love!
