How to Enroll in Alabama Church School (ACS):
All students in your household between the ages of 7 – 16 years old should be enrolled in either a public, private or church school. If you want to home educate, this is where the church school comes in handy for you! Being under a cover/umbrella school gives the Parent a right to legally teach their children at home.
You must send the signed church school enrollment form to the appropriate School District/B.O.E. Superintendent. Some cover schools do this for you, but the law states clearly that it’s the responsibility of the PARENT to turn in the forms!
Also, when you’re enrolled in a cover school like Alabama Church School (ACS) you do not need any kind of degree to home educate your child! If you have the internet, you have a world of education at your fingertips! It’s out there and available free and at a cost! Search home educating resources, homeschool curriculum, homeschool sites, homeschool worksheets on google and it will bring up tons of awesome sites. We’ll also give you a list of resources too!
One of the best sites we have used is Time4Learning, they have everything your child needs from worksheets to online work daily. You can set the lesson plans, print records, grades, scores, and attendance if you need them.
Enrolling:
First and foremost read over the Alabama Laws for what’s required when enrolling in a church school.
You must download the enrollment forms! Print, fill out all of the Enrollment Forms and mail to ACS so they can be signed/dated and returned to you promptly. Remember to include a SASE and the proper fee.
You can use our online Enrollment too! (Online Enrollment is all we have now!)
Payment can be made via Check/Money Order (Made out to Eric Baker) or Paypal, this will keep the process smooth!
Remember, once payment has been made, there are NO refunds and your children will be enrolled in ACS
REMEMBER to:
Never take unsigned paperwork to the school or the B.O.E.
Never leave any information off of the paperwork
Never expect ACS to supply you with books or any curriculum.
Never discuss any aspect of your child’s education with any person being nosy, for any reason. Including Doctors, Nurses and other School person’s, none of which are legally entitled to know what your educational plans are or will be.
IMPORTANT: After submitting enrollment forms, you may withdraw your child(ren) from their previous school, if currently enrolled. To avoid truancy issues, DO NOT withdraw your child from their current school until you have them enrolled in a new school.
